Ceramics evergreen state college. The course is aimed primarily at students who have previously taken a ceramics course and have the ability to center clay on a pottery wheel. Techniques will include wheel throwing alteration of thrown forms piecing parts to make complex or larger forms and creating hand built accoutrements.
In this class students will explore the sculptural and design potential of functional ceramic forms. Ceramics this course will provide students with opportunities to concentrate on advanced wheel throwing techniques. Ceramics studio the evergreen state college we re teaching and learning remotely for summer 2020 and planning hybrid classes for fall. Ceramics at evergreen introduces students to a range of possibilities for working in clay.
A sequence of courses is offered throughout the year as part of evening and weekend studies which provide basic skills instruction in a variety of applications from sculptural to functional working with high and low fire clay bodies. The goal of this course is to provide students with opportunities to concentrate on advanced wheel throwing techniques. It is highly encouraged that students have previously taken a ceramics course and have the ability to center clay on a pottery wheel.
